Alpaca Wings Ranch relies on a variety of methods to guard our property and livestock. Everything is secured by locks. Our house and Delilah (Camel) are also guarded by dogs and lights. For our Alpacas, along with the locks and lights, our guard of choice is the Llama.

Year after year the llama has proven to be the most loyal and dedicated watch "dog" we have ever seen. One llama gave all but his last breath of life to save "his" alpaca from an attack of wild dogs. Miraculously, he survived and still keeps his post.
