Meet DELILAH...
Delilah is Alpaca Wings' Dromedary Camel. At 4
years old, she's weighing in at 1200 lbs! Delilah is certainly the star of the
Ranch, bringing in 90% of our visitors. The most common question asked is why do
we have a camel? The obvious answer is because Camels are Cool!!!! Actually, we
have Delilah for the same reason we have our alpacas... FIBER!
Camels, Llamas, Alpacas, Guanacos and Vicunas
are all members of the CAMELID family. Camel fiber is as versatile as alpaca
fiber. Camels also have hair (much like horse hair) along their hump and neck.
This hair is cut and collected to become quite valued artist brushes.
Of course, another advantage to having a camel is riding them!
